Welcome to the Journey of Discovery in Art to the beautiful landscapes of Rokua Geopark!
A Journey of Discovery in Art is a collection of seven works that highlight the natural and cultural heritage of the Rokua Geopark area through environmental art. The works are inspired by three main themes: geological heritage, tar, and legends.
Environmental art is part of the development of cultural tourism in the Rokua Geopark area. The art inspires people to get out and about in nature, and sustainably highlights the natural and cultural heritage.
The project “A Journey of Discovery in Art—Environmental Art Gives Vitality to the Oulujoki River Valley” will create seven environmental artworks in the Rokua Geopark area. Humanpolis Oy / Rokua UNESCO Global Geopark coordinates the project, which is funded by the Council of Oulu Region.
