The Kota hut is located right by the Oulu River, about 200 meters from the main building of Merilä Manor. The Kota was renovated in the summer of 2025, and thanks to electricity and heating, it is available year-round. Inside, there are 6 tables for 10 people each, and in the center, there is a large fireplace that operates on charcoal. The space is excellent for evening gatherings, smaller family celebrations, and as an inspiring meeting environment. Modern meeting technology and food and beverage services are available for the Kota. It has a liquor license.
Right next to the kota is a unique View Sauna, completed for the summer of 2025, which can accommodate up to 30 sauna-goers at a time. The benches are built in an auditorium style, and there are views from the upper benches. It is easy to jump into the adjacent river for a swim. The sauna has a small washing and changing area, and it can be heated either with a traditional wood-burning stove or an electric stove.
