Experience Authentic Finland – A Cabin Full of Character!
This 1980-built cabin in Rokua Geopark offers a glimpse into real Finnish life—quirks and all. With two bedrooms, an extra bed for two, a kitchen, a toilet, a shower, and a fireplace room (without a fireplace), it’s a true back-to-basics retreat. But don’t worry—there’s a traditional wood-heated sauna, because no Finnish getaway is complete without one.
Located one kilometer from Lake Oulujärvi and 17 km from Rokua National Park, this spot is perfect for nature lovers. Surrounded by forests full of birdsong, the area offers stunning hiking trails and a night sky free from light pollution, making it an excellent place to see the northern lights.
The huge yard invites you to relax, play outdoor games, or simply watch the grass grow. If it rains, an old 1950s storehouse serves as a rustic party venue or shelter. Next door, you’ll find the historic Jylhämä hydropower plant area, designed by Aarne Ervi, offering a unique cultural experience.
For the adventurous, the host rents out kayaks, canoes, electric fat bikes, and regular fat bikes and in winter skibased snow skies, allowing you to explore both land and water and a snow.
With the Sustainable Travel Finland label, this eco-friendly cabin promotes recycling and responsible tourism. Come live like a local—experience Finland in all its imperfect, charming glory!
