Long, long ago in Finland the harvest celebrations were shared with the beloved ones long departed. Ghosts were invited to sauna but also to dinner. A set table was always put for the dead, just as in Mexico.
On this day it is customary for Mexicans to bring food to cemeteries to offer their beloved ones. It is an act of peace and sharing.
We will be diving into the Mexican flavours and culture, not only going to the most widely known recipes like enchiladas, but mostly discovering the traditional dishes for this specific day, like pico de gallo, chilaquiles or the famous pan de muerto (bread of the dead).
Flowers, skulls, picture frames and vibrant colours, are all recknowned aspects of the Mexican culture and will be present on this cherished day, setting the mood for a 5 senses discover.
Join us for a thematic dinner with tastes, sounds, crafts and stories for a meaningful Remembrance Day.
